Larry O’Brien was born in Glendale, California, and raised in Eagle Rock, a suburb of Los Angeles. He went to California State University, Long Beach, and worked for Security Pacific Bank as a foreign exchange trader. He also served in the US Naval Reserve. After he retired, he became a private investigator.
